Hi everyone, welcome. It's a wonderful evening here in Alice Springs, Central Australia, and I hope it's beautiful wherever you are. I am your presenter and host, Murray Stewart, and this is episode 940.
Neil Sedaka wrote and sung a beautiful song about a sad topic. Breaking up is hard to do. And yes, it is. Breaking up is hard to do. But the fashion in which you break up often determines how well you recover. My view is you should do it with honor. You should do it with respect.
I've been married and divorced on three occasions. Twice, I broke things up. And on the third occasion, I was given my marching orders. I hold nothing against my previous wives and will always hold them in a special place in my heart. What I have learnt about breaking up, I think is worth passing on.
If your marriage is in such a circumstance and you are contemplating calling it a day, then why don't you just sit down with him or her and be very honest and very direct, but very, very respectful. How about something like this: "I just wanted to have a chat today so we can both start working on a new future, a brand new beginning."
Most separating parties in a marriage that has not been working are very aware that their marriage is on the rocks and they are lonely. When someone respectful sits down with them and brings this to a head, they are mightily relieved. Breaking up in this fashion will mean that you will both respect one another and be capable of separating in an honorable, respectful, and caring manner.
If there are children involved, it's absolutely vital that you break up in this sort of manner because the children are watching and they are hurting as well. By your example, they would have learnt how to do such exits in a wonderfully dignified manner.
Good luck to you and I hope if you have to experience breaking up that these words of wisdom can help you to conduct the exit in a manner where your life can be glued back together again in a brand new fashion.
Okay, folks, that's it. This has been episode 940 of Blind Magic Communications Production.

And what a difference he has made to my life. or what a difference he has made. Santa is highly intelligent. He is a bit stubborn and a little bit disobedient, but he's very, very playful, and he has got the most magnificent fur. Yes, he does. He feels absolutely beautiful to Pat, and he's always there when I come home from work to say a big hello and first thing in the morning when I jump out of bed, there he is. He loves sitting on my feet or walking alongside me. he makes every day a wonderful day.
If you are on your own and you are an older Australian and you have been thinking about getting a puppy dog, do not hesitate. Absolutely do not hesitate. and I can highly recommend the Maltese Shih Tzu breed. I can. They are the most wonderful indoor dogs. They are. They're not overly needy. They are independent, but they absolutely love you. And when they sit on your feet at night in the wintertime, it's like wearing a beautiful pair of boots, and they love to do that. They do. Otherwise, they will sit right alongside you on your lounge suite. They enjoy coming to bed with you, but as I said, as they are independent. They self-train themselves in terms of toilet training and they always take themselves out when it's required and come back in when they are ready.
Oh yes, I absolutely love Sainter and it's going to be a great day. Next week, the 31st of May, when we celebrate his birthday, a good friend and support worker is putting together a puppy cake for him. Yes, a puppy cake. It'll have special ingredients that suits puppy dogs and their palate and that I'm absolutely certain Sainter will love. Oh yes, he loves Rachel and I'm certain he will love his celebration. It will come complete with one candle and those who would like to drop in are welcome to come and just say happy birthday to my boy. Yeah, say happy birthday and celebrate what he has done for me as I know a puppy dog can do for you.
Yes, what a difference a puppy dog can make. Indeed indeed and as i say do not hesitate if you're thinking about getting a puppy dog in order to make your world a happier place don't hesitate and i do recommend the maltese Shih Tzu breed. If you're listening to this show and you have a disability, I want to tell you how powerful you are, how incredible you are, and how important you are to the world. My new business, Blind Magic Communications, no, blind magic communications. Blind magic communications is built on the absolute understanding and belief that all vision impaired people have incredible resources that can make this world a better place.
And the reason for this is if you have a disability, you practice survival mechanisms that are so well practiced that if you are in a position to share your knowledge to the rest of the world, you can help so many other people with some self-improvement techniques. Blind Magic Communications does exactly that with our amazing workshops and, of course, our podcast series, Blind Magic in Alice Springs.
I am, through Blind Magic Communications, sharing with the world the power that all vision-impaired people have through very, very well-practiced survival techniques. Yes, we need to practice the skills of the power of touch and the power of hearing and the power of voice and therefore our verbal skills and of course the power of listening to others. All people with a disability are incredibly amazing they have to be because they can only survive through as I said well-practiced survival techniques that we can all gain from.
I, of course, experienced as a vision-impaired person. So I would absolutely benefit and learn from listening to other people with disabilities who can share their knowledge, their experience, and their skill sets with people like me, and, of course, people like you. So yes, if you are out there and you are a person living with a disability, whoa, you are so, so important to the world. I'm sure you are already being wonderful role models to the people around you, your friends, your family, your community. You're so, so important. important and I want you to not only know that I want you to believe that and go forward.
Not only showing the world how good you are but of course then giving us the knowledge that we then can use to make our world a more improved place as I keep saying one by one, we should aim to make this world an even better place, an improved place, a wonderful world that we can all enjoy. Okay, folks, this has been episode 935, a Blind Magic Communications production. Music.

Hi everyone. Welcome, welcome. This is Murray Stewart, your host and presenter, and this is episode 934 of Blind Magic in Alice Springs. In this episode, I want to talk to those people out there who are lonely and who are searching for love and happiness. We have been conditioned ever since we were born to believe that our happiness is the responsibility of someone else other than ourselves. We begin by believing that our happiness is the responsibility of our parents. And then we believe that our happiness is a responsibility of someone else other than ourselves, hence the constant searching for a partner to ensure our happiness. As I have grown older, I have come to understand that our happiness and therefore my happiness is my responsibility. Yes, it is. It's my responsibility. And that is why I have chosen to make myself happy through seeking and exploring self-love. That's right. Loving myself. and you can do the same. You every day have lunch with, have dinner with, and sleep with the best person in the world, and that person is you. Yeah, believe that. Believe that. There are so many people who make the mistake of believing that their happiness is in the hands of someone else. And therefore, sometimes in seeking a partner, they choose the wrong person. That's right, that person who doesn't treat them well. Those relationships often end badly and cause great stress and great harm and great anxiety. Anxiety so why don't you choose self-love yeah loving yourself building an incredible relationship with you it can be done i promise you it can be done. And as I said, you already have a date every day with the best person in the world, you.And I also believe that if your end game is to attract someone else into your world, well, don't make that your first, second and third objective, but I can tell you that people who do love themselves and who practice, therefore, self-love, they are attractive people. They're very attractive, self-assured people. So ultimately, other people around you pick up your confidence. They pick up on your self-belief. And therefore, one day, you never know, So love will find you. That's right. Love will find you. You won't need to keep searching for it. It will come to your doorstep, to your home and into your heart, into your heart. And you would not have even needed to try. The only thing you would have done is practiced self-love and therefore you would have developed into an amazing, confident, incredible person who is comfortable in your own skin.Yes, so do that. Do that today. Do that tomorrow and do that for the years to come. Believe in you. Have a relationship with yourself and become that amazing, self-confident, unbelievable, and therefore incredibly attractive person. Thanks, everyone. This has been episode 934, I believe. Is that right, Hayley? Yes. Thank you, Hayley, my producer, my wonderful producer, who I've got no doubt is practicing self-love.All right, that's it folks. This has been episode 934 of Blind Magic Communications production.

Hi everyone. Welcome, welcome. Welcome to episode 933 of Blind Magic in Alice Springs. This is your host and presenter Murray Stewart. In this episode, I want to directly appeal to those of my fellow citizens here in Alice Springs who are contemplating leaving this wonderful town. My first question is, why? Yes, why are you leaving?I have no doubt this town is right on the edge of economic and social prosperity. Nothing can boost a town more than the combination of misery and mining. Governments will invest to fix social problems, and private enterprise will invest in mining. Alice Springs has both of these circumstances as we speak. Money is pouring in to address social and criminal issues and also due to the Nolan Basin Mining Project, which will bring many jobs.So why are you leaving? Is it because of the crime? Crime is everywhere. In many other parts of Australia, the crime is worse. Be very careful about what you wish for. Here in Alice Springs, there are many ways to make yourself comfortable and engaged in the community. Before you leave, consider these options. Make your environment and home safe. If you have the finances, invest in security or renovations. If you are renting and can afford it, buy a home in Alice Springs. Your home will grow in value with the coming economic boom.Invest emotionally in Alice Springs. Get involved with a community group or form your own. I founded the Desert Sports Foundation, which continues to flourish and provide support to families. I've had years of enjoyment through my involvement with this organization.Invest financially and emotionally to build a sense of belonging. When you do, you will want to continue making Alice Springs your home. I have done this and have always yearned to return to my home, Central Australia, Alice Springs. It has been a wonderful give-and-take relationship.I want you to have the same feeling of belonging. Invest in our community, and you too can have the sense of fulfillment that I have. Good luck on your journey, whether you stay or go. As someone who has lived here for many years and served as the town's deputy mayor, I would love you to stay. This has been episode 933 of Blind Magic in Alice Springs, a Blind Magic Communications production. Thank you for listening.

Hi everyone, let's get moving. This is episode 932 of Blind Magic in Alice Springs, and I am your host and presenter, Murray Stewart. In this episode, we celebrate the enduring icon of the music world, Willie Nelson, and his latest inspirational song, "Don't Let the Old Man In." At the age of 90, Willie Nelson shares wisdom that resonates deeply, especially with older men. His message is clear: it's all about attitude and not letting the old man into our body or thoughts. We discuss the alarming suicide rates among men over 80 and how positive role models like Willie Nelson can help turn those statistics around. The key to resilience is maintaining a strong and positive mind. Personally, after overcoming a heart attack and strokes, I feel like I'm starting life anew as I approach my 62nd year. The magic word is hope—hope that we can still achieve, remain important to our friends, family, and community, and make a difference.Remember, it's essential to stay active, drink plenty of water, and exercise regularly to keep both body and mind strong. This ensures we never lose hope. Our wisdom and experience are valuable resources the world needs, and as long as that remains true, we will always have hope.Thank you for joining me for episode 932, a Blind Magic Communications production.
