Hi everyone. This is Blind Magic in Alice Springs, and I am Murray Stewart, your presenter and host.
It feels like Christmas morning here in the Northern Territory as we welcome a new chapter in our political landscape. After eight years of a Labor government, the country Liberal Party, led by Leah Finocchiaro, has come into power. Congratulations to her, the party, and the people of the Northern Territory, who seem to be feeling a sense of relief.
Despite the challenges of the past three years, the promise of change is in the air. The country Liberal Party now faces the pressure of delivering on their promises and bringing the much-needed change that voters have yearned for.
I love the freedom of being independent and, although I don't belong to any political party, I did support Josh Burgoyne and Robin Lamley in their campaigns. Both have shown great dedication and resilience, and their victories are well-deserved.
Democracy is a gift, and it’s a privilege to vote for a party and candidate of your choice. The people of the Northern Territory have brought in a new era with their votes, and we are all hopeful for a positive future. Today, we celebrate this new beginning and look forward to the work ahead.
This has been episode 1052 of Blind Magic Communications. Thank you for tuning in.
